Emergency Preparedness Services – CIMS Training

Your CIMS training needs to be broad enough for people to understand the framework, but focused enough so they understand your agencies roles and responsibilities in the response.
The Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) is New Zealand’s incident management system. The framework works across all levels of response, but the way that the emergency services, CDEM and all-of-government agencies use CIMS, is different.
Your CIMS instructor/s should have ‘been there and done that’.
Our instructors have all been members of the emergency services, with years of experience at the incident level. The instructors we use for our corporate and all-of-government agency courses all have experience working as liaisons to, or members of, a Regional or National Level coordination centre.
We have provided CIMS training to staff from Central and Local government agencies, the emergency services, CDEM, Iwi and the private sector.
We ensure that your instructor has experience at the level of response your team will be required to work at!
CIMS Level 3 training
Available Online (via Zoom or Teams), Face-to-face or as a self paced video program.
Regardless of how it is delivered, this course will ensure that participants have a basic understanding of the Coordinated Incident Management System, how it is implemented at different levels of response and why it is important. NZQA Unit Standard 32158 accreditation is available.
In 2020 we introduced online CIMS Level 3 training via Zoom/Teams.
We have provided CIMS training to staff from Central and Local government agencies, the emergency services, CDEM, Iwi and the corporate world.
One central government agency found that the courses exceeded their expectations and had fabulous feedback from their attendees all over the country. We continue to deliver their CIMS Level 3 training online, saving them thousands of dollars in staff travel costs each time we run a course.
CIMS Level 4 training
Face-to-face training.
This course will ensure that participants understand, and practice, implementing the Coordinated Incident Management System at different levels of response. NZQA Unit Standard 29553 accreditation is available.
