Dave Greenberg
Dave is one of New Zealand’s longest-serving rescue helicopter crewmen. taking part in nearly 4000 missions across a 25-year career. He now works with organisations in high-risk environments that are looking for proven frameworks to reduce the likelihood of significant loss and/or serious harm and swiftly transition from chaos to business-as-usual during high-impact events.

Dave grew up in Queens, New York and helped save a life for the first time, doing CPR on a stranger, when he was only 13-years old.
He arrived in New Zealand, for a one year IT contract, in January 1990, and never left.
Dave spent 25 years working on Wellington’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter, where he was part of nearly 4,000 missions. He was also Crew Chief, Operations Manager and Life Flight media spokesman during his career.
He has taken part in four NZ-based reality TV shows, was Wellington’s “eye in the sky”, delivering traffic reports from the helicopter for over two years and has been interviewed 100’s of times by print, radio and TV journalists from around the world.
Dave’s first book, “Emergency Response : Life, Death and Helicopters” which was published by Penguin NZ in 2017. He has plans to self publish several more books, relating to crisis and incident management, beginning October 2024.
After leaving the rescue helicopter Dave re-established his Incident / Crisis Management Consultancy, based in New Zealand, but speaking, training and consulting in Australasia and around the world.
Between October 2019 and February 2020 Dave spent hundreds of hours working on fire-fighting helicopters in New South Wales, Australia.
In March 2020 he joined New Zealand’s Ministry of Health where he helped manage Covid-19 outbreaks in the country. In this role he worked closely with officials from MOH and the Covid Cabinet (including the Prime Minister and Ministers) and many central and local government agencies.
Today he helps organisations around the world overcome the chaos and overwhelm of dealing with crises. In 2024 he will be delivering face-to-face talks in Australia, Indonesia, Europe the United Kingdom and the United States. He also delivers talks keynotes and workshops online.
